How to Massively Attract Wedding Clients in 3 Easy Steps!

How to Massively Attract Wedding Clients in 3 Easy Steps!

There a million different articles on how to attract clients right? But how often do you read about how to massively attract wedding clients in 3 easy steps, from someone who’s actually done it?

To be honest, as a professional Makeup Artist, there’s something annoying about the phrase “attract wedding clients”. I mean, it sounds so woo, right? Many of you have told me that you just want people to see the creative value you bring and want to work with you solely because of that.

And I get it, because I was once there too. Ten years ago, I thought man, I’m pretty damn good at this makeup thing and people should automatically want to work with me. OK, maybe I was a little ambitious.

In reality, you and I are the leaders of all the things you in our business. You are the one who has to draw in or “attract” makeup clients so you can turn them into paying clients. If you don’t do that, you don’t have a business.

That is the exact reason I love learning more and more about the top 3 secrets I’m teaching you below.

So, if you want more makeup clients and more moolah fast (we don’t have to call it “attract” anymore, check them out.

1) Positioning Your Services

Do you know how to stand out in a sea of others? How to differentiate yourself so you can stop working for someone else?

We need you to TRULY know who you are - with confidence this will lead to quality messaging to potential clients. What makes your special? Different? Trustworthy?

What are your peeps biggest pain points? Is it that they don’t have a makeup artist who’s willing to travel to them early in the morning because their wedding is during the day? Is it that they feel like most makeup artists make them look unlike themselves and they’re afraid of looking like a clown?

I challenge you to survey some newly engaged women or if you have trouble finding them, even friends will work. Ask them what their fears are, what keeps them up at night when it comes to their big day, when it comes to their makeup artist, how they’ll look, etc.

Use what you’ve learned above about your potential brides’ biggest pain points or fears to incorporate into everything you do.

Use it on your website (written or spoken in video), bridal social media, in person, at networking events, even with friends (you never know who might know someone who’s getting married or they might even be getting engaged soon).

This will help you to differentiate yourself from other professional makeup artists and wedding vendors. And this is key!

Know that you know how you’re going to position yourself, we need to work on your relationships.

2) Networkning and Relationships

Pull out your phone book and start calling everyone you see...nope just kidding. It’s much simpler than that. You don’t have to join any cheesy networking groups when you’re just starting out. Think about how many people you already know.

Now, pull out a pad and pen and make a list of who you know. It doesn’t matter if you know the last names or not. Then, write down next to those names everyone that they know. Next, highlight or circle the names of people who may be of the age range for engaged couples (typically 25-35).

Start with them. Let their relatives or those couples themselves know what you do and how you’re different. Invite them to look at your website or email over a few before and after photos. Don’t push, just let them know!

Now, maybe they’re not ready yet but the goal is to get them on your email list so you can keep in touch with them until they are ready. To keep you front of mind so that when they’re at that point, they automatically think of you.

If they ask you any questions, make sure they know that you book out over a year in advance (because even if you’re not doing this yet, and you hang out here with me, you will be!). Build these business relationships the same way you would as if you were trying to make a new best friend.

And speaking of new best friends, meet SEO.

3) SEO For Service Based Business:

I know, I know. It sounds harder than it is. But think about it. When you go to search for someone or something to buy, where do you start? Google, right? And on the first page of Google, at most, right? That’s where we need you to aim. Will it happen overnight? No. But with continuous small bits of energy and focus, you will get there.

So where do you start? Before you do anything, I highly recommend skipping any high priced coaches or consultants, unless you can’t find the time to learn it yourself.

Don’t hire an agency to do it for you either. Because you won’t be able to maintain it. And if someone else does something shady that gets you dinged by Google which drops your ranking, you may never recover. And I say this as a consultant!

Go to Amazon or your local library to learn the basics of SEO for service based business this YEAR.

This is key, SEO is always changing so you have to know the current rules. Don’t look back at anything from more than a year or so ago.

Make sure your website contains keywords (after you’ve done your research). And make sure you have a combination of short and long tail keywords. More on that later.

Set up accounts for all social media platforms. You don’t have to post regularly to them all but do reserve your name and fill out the basic necessities like about, etc. If you don’t do this, you’ll be kicking yourself, pinky promise.

Now you’ve learned how to massively attract clients in 3 easy steps through positioning, relationships and SEO, do you have any others to add? Let me know in the comments.
