What's the biggest branding mistake not to make in your wedding business? Hey there, I'm Jen and if you don't know me, I help wedding professionals get booked solid with dream clients they love working with.

So what is it that is the biggest mistake? Not sharing anything about you. If you're in the wedding business, you have a personal brand, meaning it's personal, right? Are you hiding behind the camera, not showing anything about who you are outside of your craft? It's not always comfortable at first, but you really do need to show people who you are.

This creates a sense of trust and likability that can't be created without showing who you are, visually and verbally. We're talking about, obviously, online. Maybe you're not ready for live videos yet, so write out some fun facts about yourself. Put them on your blog, put them on social media, and if you are ready for a video, get to it. Think about it. If you read something about someone, you get a small sense of who they are. Right? Now, if you hear their voice and you're listening, you get a bigger sense of who they are. Now, what are we doing here? Video. If you see someone in video, you really begin to connect with who that person is because it feels personal. You really get a sense of who that person is. I mean, think of all the reality TV show stars. Like this morning I was watching the Real Housewives. We watched them on channels like Bravo and kind of secretly feel like we really know them like they're friends of ours, but we've never actually met.

So what can you do to show yourself? Have those professional images of yourself taken and use them. I'm begging you. Use them everywhere. Make sure they're on your website and all over social media. I was recently working with a really talented client, but her picture was nowhere to be found. Nowhere on her website. Nowhere on social media. I mean, there might've been one or two here or there, but it was definitely missing. Don't feel like you're being annoying or self-absorbed, because your ideal client wants to know who you are. She wants to know why you do what you do and what you do differently than others in your market. Tell her, share it with her, and don't feel funny about it.

So here's what I want you to do. Create a time to go live every week, or even more if you're able. Share tips and tricks to the most commonly asked questions that you get from potential clients or even friends and family. Do a little research on Google to see what questions she's asking and then answer them. If you can create a pretty background to do them in, do that. I mean, don't worry about when and where inspiration strikes.

Look at me, again, I'm in my car but this is the time I'm able to do this. So that's why I'm here because I want to show up for you guys. You have something important to share with your potential clients. You have the information that they're looking for. Look at the rise of video. Can you scroll through your feed for more than a minute and not see a video? I know I can't. It's everywhere and it's not going anywhere. It's only growing.

So put on your big girl panties, or if you're a guy, grow some balls and start. Start small. It doesn't have to be anything dramatic and all planned out. A little outside of your comfort zone and put yourself out there. And as you do, you'll feel your confidence grow. The more you do it, the more your confidence will grow, and the more you'll connect with those ideal brides and clients.

Then you can take the next step.

If the next step for you is getting additional support, I invite you to head over to work with me. Choose a time that works for us to connect. We'll go over what's working for you, what's not, and how I can be of further support to you. So thanks for listening again today, guys, and make sure to tune in next week for even more branding tips that will help you to get yourself booked solid.

So now you know the biggest branding mistake not to make in your wedding business…probably not what you thought right?
